Nelson Jalil
 

​Nelson Jalil, Camagüey, Cuba, 1984, is a multidisciplinary artist who has developed his work mainly in painting, and also exploring other media sush as installation and video. He graduated from University of the Arts of Havana in 2009, and the Fine Arts Academy of Camagüey in 2003. Jalil’s work has been shown internationally at The DOM Museum of Vienna, Austria; the Kunsthalle of Vienna, Austria; the Espace Témoin Art Center, Geneva, Switzerland; the Reinbeckhallen Art Center, Berlín, Germany; the Tianqiao Art & Cultural Centre, Beijing, China; the Experiments in Cinéma Film Festival, New Mexico, EEUU; the Art of the World Gallery, Houston, Texas; and the Center for the Development of Visual Arts in Havana, Cuba. Jalil’s work has been also shown at the Fototeca of Cuba, the Ludwig Foundation of Havana, as well as in galleries, Art Fairs and alternative art spaces at United States, Italy, France, Austria, Mexico and Cuba. His work has been included in the Cuban Art Anthology CUBA TOTALITARIA, published by Editorial Hypermedia, 2022 and the Cuban art compilation Cutting the Edge in Havana, 100 Cuban artists, published by ARTempoCuba, 2019. Jalil´s work is part of the collection of the Dom Museum, Wien, Austria, the collection of Espacio 23, Miami, EU, as well as several private collections around the world.
 

Nelson Jalil, Camagüey, Cuba, 1984, es un artista multidisciplinario que ha desarrollado su obra en medios como la pintura, la instalación y el audiovisual. Graduado de la facultad de Artes Plásticas del Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) de la Habana en 2009 y previamente de la Academia de Artes de Camagüey en 2003. Su trabajo ha sido exhibido internacionalmente en el Museo DOM, Viena, Austria, el Kunsthalle, Viena, Austria, el Centro de Arte Espace Témoin, Ginebra, Suiza; el Centro de Arte Reinbeckhallen, Berlín, Alemania; el Centro Cultural Tianqiao, Beijing, China; el Festival Internacional de cine Experiments in Cinéma, Nuevo México, USA. Su obra además ha sido mostrada en el Centro de Desarrollo de Artes Visuales (CDAV) La Habana, Cuba; la Fototeca de Cuba, Fundación Ludwig de La Habana; así como en Galerías, Ferias de Arte y espacios alternativos en Estados Unidos, Italia, Francia, Austria, México y Cuba.  Su pieza “Algo vivo dentro de algo murto” ha sido recientemente incluida en la antología de Arte Cubano CUBA TOTALITARIA, publicada por la editorial Hypermedia, 2022. Su trabajo forma parte de la colección permanente del Museo DOM de Viena, Austria, la colección de El Espacio 23, Miami, Estados Unidos, así como múltiples colecciones privadas alrededor del mundo.
